Sonoran Preserve Maternity Photography

The weather was gray and cloudy the morning of our maternity photography session. An unusual event in Phoenix. A reason people move to the desert, sunshine 300 days a year. As I left my home for our Sonoran Preserve maternity photography session, raindrops hit my windshield. They were small and sparse, but I prayed that the weather would hold. Hold out just long enough to capture Jennifer in her last few weeks of pregnancy. Thankfully, it stopped drizzling long enough to capture beautiful photographs of this mama-to-be. As we walked out of the Sonoran Desert Preserve, light drops hit the desert floor again.

The Sonoran Desert Preserve was the perfect location to photograph this peaceful maternity session. During our golden hour session, Jennifer was put together like every photographers’ dream! From having her make-up professionally applied, to her gorgeous pale pink flowy skirt and delicate lace top. Her hair was flawless in a beautiful braided crown. Sometimes finding the perfectly styled maternity dress can be challenging, especially one that is your pre-pregnancy style. Jennifer had ordered several dresses before falling in love with this one. (I am so glad she did!) Her outfit spoke graceful, soft, and elegant which matched her calm and easygoing demeanor.

Thank you, Jennifer, for having me photograph you during this very special time. You have a lovely calm and peacefulness about you. Your beauty and grace shined through in each of the photographs. But above all, it is not your gorgeous pale pink skirt or your flawless hair and makeup that I will remember most about you, but it is your kindness. I cannot wait for you guys to meet your baby boy and for Laken to become a big sister.
