Scottsdale Family Photography Session

When they exited their SUV, this family of six were in shades of navy, gray, pale pink, and cream. Their outfits were coordinating perfectly, and their style stunning. They were coming from picking their oldest son up from a birthday party. This fun family has an active life filled with school, dance, basketball, training for a triathlon, and so much more. And a social calendar to match. It’s not hard to see why they are so popular! When deciding on a location, DC Marketplace was perfect for this Scottsdale family photography session. But what made this family photography session even more memorable, we were celebrating Valerie’s birthday.

During our Scottsdale family photography session, it was easy to see how much Valerie and Josh and the kids love each other. Each child has a special bond with their parents. And each relationship is unique. When it was time for the individual portraits of their kids, Josh and Valerie had ways of bringing out their personalities. Gabby is smart and could dance until the sun goes down. Landon loves basketball and has a quiet confidence about him. Colette has a smirk that can make anyone laugh. Beckham has a sweetness and smile that can melt your heart.

Pre-Session Consultation

One of the first times I got to witness this family’s love was at our pre-session consultation. Valerie is so sweet. She invited my kids over for a pre-session consultation playdate. During our pre-session consultation, the kids were playing games. After our meeting, Valerie, Josh, and I joined the kids outside. Getting to watch how Valerie and Josh interact with their children is inspiring. Just spending those 20-minutes in the backyard told me a lot about this family. Valerie and Josh see their kids. They know their kids. And they want to be a BIG part of their kids’ lives. They have tenderness when speaking to their kids too. What I love most about Valerie and Josh is even though they both have busy schedules, they make time for their kids and each other.
