Peoria Newborn Lifestyle Photography

Our first communication was in March for Shelby and Brian’s Peoria newborn lifestyle photography session. They were expecting a little boy in June. Their daughter, Rory, was being promoted to big sister. We were discussing our different options for the location. I hoped to photograph in their home; because nothing is more personal or means more than your home. And with newborns, it is nice to have everything for your new baby within arms reach. I am so excited to share their Peoria newborn lifestyle photography session!

When selecting a color pallet, one can never go wrong with neutrals. Regardless of how styles change over the years, they will look back at these with fondness. Shelby went with neutrals of buttery creams and light greens. Shelby’s celery top was perfect with the waffle knit, adding plenty of texture. I am in love with Rory’s dress! The buttery cream is beautiful, and the buttons were a fun detail. Both the baby and Brian wore classic staples and great colors.

First of all, it should be known that both Shelby and Brian are creatives! Both have a theater background and have professions in the creative field. So it should be no surprise that their daughter, Rory, has artistic interests as well. Rory loves to sing, dance, and draw.

When entering the Link’s room, it greets you with Shelby’s artistic talent. Brian and Shelby have a love for all things Star Wars. Their son’s nursery reflects that love as you see every item curated for his room. My personal favorite is the wall of carefully chosen Star Wars framed prints; childlike and full of whimsy. Of course, we cannot forget Shelby’s epic handpainted murals. The time, energy, and talent to create such an intricate design is mind-blowing!

Shelby and Brian, thank you for inviting me into your home to capture these precious moments. Brian, you speak to Rory with such loving and kind words. Likewise, the way you talk about your family, Shelby, says a lot about how much you love them. Above all, your children are lucky to have you as their parents. It was an honor to share this moment with your family!
