North Scottsdale Family Photography

We were meeting at a location none of us were thinking about five years ago. Back when this family of two welcomed their little boy, Ethan. Yet, in the blink of an eye, we were here: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! Although Ethan was in pre-k last year, kindergarten made this new milestone feel real. Over the past five years, we have chosen locations that were personal to Jill. Their condo where they brought Ethan home, DC Market Street, where they celebrated his first birthday, and Ethan’s preschool. It was only fitting to capture family portraits at his new elementary school! Then return home to end their North Scottsdale family photography session.

“How did we get to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SO QUICKLY?!?”

When I arrived at Ethan’s elementary school, I was having flashbacks from our photography sessions. Over the last five years, I have been fortunate to be welcomed into Jill and Rolo’s lives to capture their family moments with Ethan. From those early days when they brought Ethan home to photographing his first birthday cake smash. As well as traveling to Flagstaff for a mommy and me photography sessions, we have shared so many memories. As I was photographing our lastest session, in my mind, I could see us returning to Ethan’s elementary school. I can only imagine what 6th grade Ethan’s interest will be and how much he will grow up in those seven short years. (I know, I cannot believe I am thinking this far ahead. But if the last five years have taught me anything is that time stops for no one.)

Jill, Rolo, and Ethan, thank you for allowing me to photograph and create memories worth preserving. It has been a joy to watch! I love our break out sessions with just the two of you and all of the big boy moments with Ethan. Jill, I love being able to collaborate with you and make your dreams come to reality. Rolo, you are insightful, and I enjoy our conversations. Ethan, I hope that you look back at all of these printed memories that your parents have collected and feel all of the warmth and fond memories. Your parents have given you a life with experiences and travel, and you are the center of their world! You are a lucky boy indeed to have parents that care so much about you and take an incredible interest in you. I cannot wait to capture our next session! Big hugs!
