Mommy and me photography session

Jill stepped out of her car. She was wearing a crisp white shirt and skinny jeans that were classic and timeless. As Jill brushed her gorgeous hair out of her face, she smiled. We made small talk as Jill dressed her two-year-old. She whispered sweet words as she put on his matching outfit, an idea Jill had months earlier. She had taken my advice and paired her outfit with feminine accessories. Jill would later share that she purchased the jewelry with her mom. Elements of Jill’s mom were in all of our sessions. A sweet reminder because she had passed shortly after Ethan was born. This was our first mother and son photography session and I cannot wait for our next one! From the way the golden hour light hit their faces, to the lush field location. Our mommy and me photography session was filled with sweet exchanges.

A few weeks after our session, I dropped off their order. I knocked on the door and was met with a knockback and a hello through the door. Ethan was wearing his red fireman pajamas and he insisted we play. I love that I am no longer a stranger to him and that we read stories together. From a tiny two-week-old infant to a growing two-year-old, this little boy has changed so much over such a short amount of time. And I have been responsible for capturing his moments. A responsibility I don’t take lightly.

Jill, thank you for trusting me all of these years. Our partnership makes me want to be a better photographer. You are an amazing wife, mother, and friend. Your care and attention for Ethan does not go unnoticed. Watching you and Rolando grow as parents these last few years has been one of my greatest pleasures. Your home is filled with love and memories. I know living far from family is difficult. I love that you have made me a part of your Arizona family.
