I am in love. The kind of love where you have trouble falling asleep because you’re so excited. You wake up in the morning and it is all that you can think about. Honestly, I never thought it would happen again. And then it did, six weeks ago. When I had an opportunity to try something I never thought I would…wedding photography! I still cannot believe I was able to participate in the Monroe Abbey Styled Shoot!
The location was breathtaking. Walking through the back entrance, I tried to keep from holding my breath. Just a few more steps through the dark hallway and I would be there. As I stepped into the main gathering space, I was awestruck by its beauty. Old bricks, exposed beams, and stained glass windows gave charm to this historic church. I could only imagine the stories this old building could tell. Located in downtown Phoenix, the Monroe Street Abbey was abandoned after a fire. But this building has so much life left in it.
Even more beautiful than the Abbey were the joyful couples being photographed. From the gorgeous gowns to the beautiful bouquets and the flawless hair and makeup. Getting to interact with couples who are so in love is such a beautiful experience. Knowing they will look back at these photographs ten, twenty, or even fifty years from now is why I love this job. Another piece of history to pass on to their loved ones and future children.
Thank you again, Benjamin Clifford, for planning this amazing event! During the session, I could not stop smiling! Driving home I was completely recharged and had difficulty falling asleep due to the excitement. Discovering a new passion, one I would have never explored without your help. Thank you to the vendors. First of all, you are all so talented. Secondly, your work exquisite. Thirdly, any couple would be so lucky to have you as a part of their wedding day! Lastly, wedding photographers are lucky to have you as part of the creative team!
