Ethan’s 3rd Birthday: Part II

During our family session, Jill wanted to capture a few photos of Ethan wearing his new shirt. Years ago, Jill found an Etsy shop that produces personalize applique designs. Even with the best planning, sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Knowing how much this meant to Jill, I offered to take a few more shots during our ordering session. Because it is the little things that show someone you care. And if it matters to you, it matters to me. The following became known as Ethan’s 3rd Birthday: Part II!

What I love most about three-year-olds are their emerging personalities. Figuring out the world around them, their likes and dislikes. Well, Ethan doesn’t just like trains, he loves them. Photographing him in his home environment was honest and pure. What I will remember most is his tiny little hands holding his trains. Also, his level of concentration and dedication during his play. Often, we forget (as adults) that playing is hard work.

When his mom pulled out the chocolate frosted rice crispy, his eyes widen and a big smile followed. The exact reaction she was going for. The wrapping was removed carefully and Jill handed Ethan the special treat. Unsure if he was allowed to eat it at first, he observed the sweet treat, pointing to the sprinkles and licking the frosting caused great excitement.

Ethan, it is so much fun watching you play. One day, you will be all grown up. Even though I do not know what the future holds for you, I know great things are ahead of you. You are smart, curious, and helpful. If I only know one thing for sure, it is that your mom and dad are very proud of you and love you very much!
