Desert Maternity Photography Session at the Salt River

When Brittany and I were first talking about her desert maternity photography session at the Salt River, the first thought…was…the…dress! We were planning the dress well before deciding on the Salt River. Because it is easier to find a location that goes with a dress rather than a dress that goes with a location!

Ultimately Brittany went with a gorgeous eggplant gown from Sew Trendy. The maternity dress had a sweetheart neckline with petite (off the shoulder) cap sleeves. The dress was the embodiment of this special time; it was feminine and classic.

Once the dress was finalized, finding a location that made the dress pop was easy. The burgundy hues of the Salt River were the perfect backdrop to Brittany’s sophisticated dress. Truthfully, there were so many wonderful options to go with this desert maternity photography session. The Salt River location offerings were breathtaking; from the desert landscape to the flowing river and mountain ranges, there were so many different scenes to inspire us. Toward the end of our session, we pulled off to the side of the road and continued photographing. Giving Sean and Hudson some well deserved time in the car while we were finishing our mama-to-be portion of the session. (Brittany, you are gorgeous!)

Thank you, Brittany, Sean, and Hudson. You were so much fun to capture while waiting for Baby Charley. My favorite moments were the little moments when you and Sean would whisper secrets and smile. I appreciated that you both were rolling with whatever came your way. (Dealing with the heavy rains from the day before made for some less than ideal muddy conditions.) Hudson melted my heart when he was kissing your belly and talking to Baby Charley. Husdon is ready to take on the role of big brother, especially in an adorable bow tie!
