Cave Creek Newborn Photography Session

Ashley knew there was one image she had to have for their Cave Creek newborn photography session. She had seen newborn photographs with a baby resting on a football and the dad’s hands keeping everything steady. However, the football photographs had a deeper meaning for several reasons. For one, Ashley and Chris met at a football game. Sometimes life offers you a chance encounter where everything falls into place. It was wonderful getting to be a part of their Cave Creek Newborn Photography Session.

Sports and Football

Growing up, Ashley played soccer, and Chris played football. Ashley’s love for sports endured even though she hung up her cleats after college. Chris’s sports career would continue with the Indoor Football League. Remember how they met at a football game? It was an IFL Championship game. So getting a photograph of Kanon with an IFL football and his dad’s hands was important to Ashley. It signified the start of their relationship. But the photograph she wasn’t expecting was Chris bending down to kiss Kanon on the head. Those are the seconds I live for, in between the poses- the real moments!

Kanon’s nursery was adorable! Clean and modern with warm personal touches. It made the perfect backdrop for their photographs. Just as we captured precious moments with Chris and the baby, it was Ashley’s turn. Ashley sat in the gray glider loving on Kanon as the light poured in from the window. It was also perfect for photographing the three of them.

To achieve the perfect lighting for their engagement session, we had to drive to a second location. Shooting outside in the middle of the day can be challenging. Ashley and Chris trusted I would find the perfect spot. And I am so glad that they did! We were able to find beautiful light at DC Marketplace. During their engagement portraits, they had lots of laughs and shared inside jokes.

Ashley and Chris, thank you for including me in celebrating your big moments. I am so happy for you. Kanon already has two big fans cheering him on. I cannot wait to see if he enjoys soccer or football more!

PS And if you don’t like sports, Kanon, I’m pretty sure they will cheer you on whatever you choose.
