My 6 Month check-in for my birthday goals: 2018

My 6 Month check-in for my birthday goals: 2018. It’s been 6 months since I first proclaimed my 2018 goals for my birthday. It’s time for another check-in. (I’m not sure I’m going to like the results.) But in an effort to be real and honest, I need to be forthcoming, even if it means I am completely off from my goals. I mean, I still have 6 more months right?!? So here it goes!

Update 2018 goals: September check-in

  1. (Do children’s books count?!? If so, I am doing great!!) Otherwise, I would say I’m not on track for my 10 book goal. So far, I have read 3 and 1/2. I am definitely reading, but they are blogs, The Week magazine, and social media posts. 🔃
  2. I am exercising, but only about twice a week.🔃
  3. We are not even going to talk about what I have been eating, okay?🔃
  4. Yes, we have been carving out more time for one another. And we have a big date in a few weeks! (Can I get a high five?) ☑
  5. My husband enjoys getting texts from me, so I try and send little texts and silly GIFs ☑
  6. I feel like no 6 is my most accomplished of the group. After school, we read on the couch, work on homework and do our nightly cuddles and chats.
  7. Sydney is loving dance, even if she doesn’t always want to admit it because according to her, it’s Lauren’s thing. Zach has been asking to craft more. ☑
  8. Check no. 8 off my list. She is up to 11 hours of dance and I spend a lot of time driving both girls. (Just wait until competition season starts in the spring) ☑
  9. Since the kids have been back in school, I’ve had plenty of coffee dates. I still have quite a few more friends to catch up with though. (Note to self, not a  realistic summer goal) ☑
  10. Clients have been loving their artwork for their home and the experience I create. I often receive heartfelt texts from my clients thanking me for making them feel beautiful and well cared for. (To which I usually cry because it means a lot to me that people would take the time to say nice things about me)   ☑
  11. I completed more than 30 hours of continuing professional photography education, I cannot tell you how much I love learning and growing  ☑
  12. I have been in front of the camera more times in the last 6 months than I have been in the last 6 years. It has given me the best perspective on how my clients feel and has greatly impacted how I explain to clients what to expect. Speaking of things that scare me, I have big plans for 2019 ☑

What I am realizing from this is that my self-care has been suffering a bit. Nothing like reviewing your goals to discover that you’re hitting most of them, but not taking great care of yourself in the process. I will be working on this ASAP!
