Confession time: I totally cheated! (And it’s not as bad as it sounds…I promise)
It started like any other Saturday morning.
The kids were running around playing…fighting. With too many things to complete, I sat at my computer fantasizing.
And then I did it.
It went to Target.com and started ordering all of my girls’ back to school supplies with the click of a few buttons.
I had my coffee in one hand and the back to school supply list in the other.
One by one, I found those suckers and added them to my cart.
I knew I had promised the girls that we would go to the store and buy it all, but honestly, it was so much easier online.
I didn’t have to argue about why we couldn’t purchase a bottle of glue shaped like an adorable puppy. (TRUE STORY)
Now, at the end of my shopping adventure in my pajammies, I asked Lauren and Sydney to come and look at the cart.
Both of my daughters approved of the items and I think they enjoyed watching a show.
(How I got my kids to stop fighting…)
We still did some back to school clothes shopping at Old Navy.
I couldn’t pass up $5 graphic tees, especially when I am lucky if Zach can wear a shirt for more than a few times before it is ruined with crafting supplies.
And they helped sort their school supplies when our target order arrived at the front door.
Not once did my girls complain that I hadn’t fulfilled my promise of in-store back to school supply shopping.
I’m pretty sure I am going to do it again next year. I did take Zach to get some pre-k supplies and I’m pretty sure he didn’t really care.
I do enjoy taking the kids to pick out their backpacks and lunch boxes.
But even then, both girls picked theirs out online.
Apparently, an endless amount of possibilities is really appealing.
